Luke 6:37- "And this woman (Anna the prophetess) was a widow of about 84 years, who did not depart from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day."
Anna was a dedicated woman! She was one of the first people to notice that Jesus was the Messiah, and dedicated her life to the service of God. In fact, Scripture says she never left the temple! She was known for serving God with fasting and praying. She did it all the time! Even at 84 years, she really wanted to KNOW God intimately.
I'm reminded of Romans 12:11- "Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord."
I'm praying that fasting would energize your spiritual fervor. I'm praying that your zeal for serving the Lord and getting others to Jesus would be impacted through your time seeking Him through fasting. And I'm praying that like Anna, it would continue to be a part of your relationship with Jesus.
